Just the Beginning
Well, today is the first day of my blog. Though I know it may not always be easy, it is very exciting, even if it is a road to the unknown.
I will admit I do not know much Biblical theology, so I will keep it simple and real for the most part. Christians and no-Christians alike can sense there is a lack of love across denominational lines. Although it is hard to except what some believe, and we are warned of those in error, it is dangerous for us to continue to walk with discord with one another. To point the judgmental finger of right and wrong is no different then those rebuked for finding the sliver in their brother’s eye, when they have a plank in their own.
Times have changed; words have changed, but the same devil roams the earth desiring to divide and conquer God’s people and we have to stop giving him room to divide us. Use caution, but do not fear. For God does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind!
Walk in the reverence of God, respecting the fact that his hand is not shortened that it can not save or his ear too heavy that it can not hear, instead of walking in the fear of being in error. For God desires mercy over sacrifice, so as we step out in our calling let us remember we are loved while we are YET sinners.
I will be the first to let you know, I don’t have all the answers and I don’t always understand, so I am sure I will get a lot of people to tell me how wrong about something along the way. Which is alright, it won’t be the first time, and it won’t be the last. However, what I do know and understand is there are many of God’s little ones leaving the church and not returning because they think it is full of hypocrites. Also, many would rather avoid church then embrace the cross, which will set them free. That is a heavy cross to bear, and it is not one that Jesus carried. Jesus said himself, “For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
I have been told how wrong I was many times; my testimony stolen right out from my heart. I myself have told other how wrong they were, robbing them of their testimony. At some point we all cross the line of offense, but it is a new year and the time to forgive and be forgiven is here. So, I bow before the Lord humbled, reaching out to all my brothers and sisters in Christ in the purest form of love I know that is in our Savior asking you to continue this journey with me as we learn together.
I have seen many be turned away and driven from the arms of Christ only to fall into the hands of the enemy. I am tired of the devil gaining ground over God’s people, and I am determined to take back all the territory he has tried claiming – In Jesus name, of course!
